c. 1873. 108pp. Fifteen steel and nineteen wood engravings. Bound in dark red cloth with black and gilt decoration; all edges gilt. The spine is dulled and the head and foot and fore-corners well chipped. The binding is shaky and the first few pages are coming loose. Light foxing to front and endmatter and around the very edges of most of the plate pages. The plates themselves, featuring Zurbaran and Ribera and others as well as Murillo, are unaffected by foxing and very nice, several are really very vividly engraved. 26c
